It's probably the best they could have come up with.

Pity the poor students who discover they haven't got the grades they wanted in July, and then have to revise (potentially having done no work since March) for an exam!

SurpriseSparDay · 20/03/2020 15:18

How would they take their exams at a later date? Surely the syllabus will have changed by September for any given exam?

FlyingPandas · 20/03/2020 15:20

I think it’s about as fair as we can hope for under the circumstances.

Still no clarification on btecs. DD doing 2 a levels and 1 btec, like lots of others. Very frustrating.

They can sit them in the summer of 2021 if they wish....would that be a year into A-levels though?!

Dd was due to sit GCSEs and pretty much got her target grades in mocks and her predicted grades are consistent with her mocks so hopefully she'll come off ok. Seems strange as a mum too though as I was mentally gearing up for the exams too (Dd takes school very seriously and was already under pastoral care due to stress over them), so I knew I was in for a bumpy ride with her. All of sudden that's gone - who could ever have predicted this?!!!
