Hi does anyone have a view or ideally practical experience of this secondary school in north London? I'm keen to hear how the classes work I belive they are very broad ability mix, and generally what the "vibe" is. My daughter is mid to slightly above average performer, very artistic, into animals and loves her current state primary school in Islington, but the state secondary options around us currently seem unattractive so we may make the (I gather) well tread path north to Haringey! Help and I used to vow I would not become an angsty parent..........

Hi cloudlover
not there yet, but it will be our most likely choice when it comes to it.
Not the best person to advise on how the classes work, but I know that they do stream in some of the core subjects.
Has always had a rather liberal atmosphere, no uniform, very creative, art, music, but gets good results as well.
There is a new head who seems to have a drive to improve the overall performance and behaviour, he seems to have a very academic focus.
The governors have voted to become a foundation school, (this has caused quite a divide in the school and community) They will not have to publish the new admission criterior until march next year, so don't know if there will be any changes. Will not effect those applying this year for a place next year.
It is always very oversubscribed.
Under the current criteria, if you are applying under distance only, the catchment is about 0.5 of a mile, so you have to be sure that you know where to move to.
Hope this is of some help
