Marylebone, Dame Alice Owen or Woodhouse

Hi,

I'm after schools advice and I apologise if I'm about to sound like an Alpha mum, rather than my beta mum monicker. My dd is in the lucky position of having 3 sixth form offers. She has a drama scholarship to St Marylebone, which is a passion of hers and was thrilled about that. Since then, though, she's had an offer from Woodhouse and an informal one from Dame Alice Owen.

Does anyone have children at these schools to help us make our decision? She wants to take Drama, English and history. All advice gratefully received.

Woodhouse is fabulous for a motivated, enthusiastic child.

No experience of the drama specifically, but there's so much going on, I'm sure there's loads to get stuck into.

The teaching, organisation and pupil support is very good at Woodhouse - my slacker ds managed to turn his mediocre-ish GCSEs into stellar A-levels with the help of inspirational teaching and very good exam preparation advice. Friends of his who moved to Owens and Latymer with much better GCSE grades came out with quite disappointing A-level results, make of that what you will.

No direct experience of Marylebone, but it's quite small and I've heard can be cliquey and a bit bitchy, but that's based on what I've heard from others, not personal knowledge.
