Do you have kids in one of these schools to share pros and cons please.
My personal impression is that Stanley is fancy, impressive esp with facilities similar to private schools. The only concern is that academically kids do not achieve high due to teaching. Kids are well behaived and no bullying I have heard- is it true? They have improvement plan and Stanley won TES for best secondary sch in 2016. How all this result in the worst results in the league tables??? Help please 😜

Just bumping this for you and adding my thoughts.
I don't have direct experience of the schools - other than working very near to Overton Grange, so seeing students daily, and knowing some teachers there. From what I have seen and heard, the behaviour of children at Stanley Park (on the whole) is worse on the whole, so I would assume it's a discipline/pupil problem rather than a teaching one. I don't know much about the revamp or changes that have been made though.
We aren't especially close to OG where we live but I know of people who put it on their form as option 3 or 4, who wouldn't have considered Stanley Park. The teachers I know at Overton Grange are very proud of their school. The Progress 8 score is also better. From this limited knowledge, I would be leaning towards OG.
Hopefully someone else will come along with more experience of the schools.

Are the results at Oaks ALL children - i.e the ones in the autism unit as well? In which case there is your answer. If you live equidistant from both these schools presumably you would be putting Harris down first anyway?

Both schools have a reputation for kids behaviour in different ways.

If you live in Sutton then you would presumably be choosing between them as your last choice or instead of Carboys/girls so it just depends.

@QuarterMileAtATime
thanks, that makes sense

It is a shame cause the area/neighbourhood where Stanley is positioned and building are amazing. They have great school ground with running track which you can not see anywhere else usually. I would be happy my child to study there, but...league tables are bad. Academically is very important for me having a bright child.

OK, it looks like the opinions on the kids behaviour vary quite a lot, so it maybe down to the kids not to the teachers..this is what I want to know from personal experience of the parents, but how to get that ?

@ChristopherTracy - I live close to Stanley park high, since best one location-wise
