hi everyone,
my dd wrote ripon test without necessary access arrangements. admission authority accepted my reaquest for special arrangements but they didnt inform it due to some technical problem of their mail server. they send mail after test. she got 183 ouf of 201 cutoff mark.when i contact authority they told me if u want u can go for appeal.
it will be grateful if anyone can give advise me on this matter.

I am surprised that no one who has expertise in appeals has spotted this one. bumping it for you and tagging @admissions and @prh47bridge - has your LA given you info on how to lodge an appeal? if you have written evidence that the special arrangements were correctly agreed and then not enacted I hope that would be a pretty clear case?

If they agreed special arrangements but didn't actually provide them that gives you a clear case for arguing that your daughter's performance on the day wasn't representative of her ability. That is a good start but it won't be enough on its own to win your appeal. You will still have to convince the appeal panel that your daughter is of the necessary standard for Ripon Grammar. They will be looking for evidence - SATS results, letters from her teachers. You also need to show that she will be disadvantaged if she isn't admitted to this school by talking about things the school offers that are particularly relevant to her and are missing from the allocated school. What do you think she will miss out on if she doesn't go to Ripon Grammar?

Many thanks for ur response VadenuRewetje, prh47bridge.
iam explaining whole thing here.first LA send letter of admission for main test, later they send another letter that they accepted for access arrangements , in that mentioned they will inform new test date for pupil with access arragements but not the main test. but we didnt get any letter until main test, we waited until main test day we r nervous called LA but didnt successful so i send my daughter for main test with worry that she will miss the test. After one week of main test they send me email about new test date with access arrangements n in that email they mention becoz of technical error in their mail server, some people didnt get this mail on time(before main test). Then i replied back that she a wrote the main test becoz unaware of new test date which is 10 days after main test. so LA told us dont send dd for new test date as she already wrote the test. they simply told us if our dd didnt qualify we can't help it , if u really concern then u have right to appeal.
i shocked that dd school dont want to give any supporting documents n r saying they never gave any backing letters from headteacher to anybody.
i am new to this appeal process n dont know anybody who been this process.
it will be very helpful for me if anybody respond n give their advises.

In the circumstances you describe it is clear that your daughter has been disadvantaged by sitting the test without the access arrangements. You therefore have a good argument that she underperformed on the day.

You need evidence to convince the panel that your daughter would have passed the test if she had been given the agreed access arrangements. If her current school won't help that is going to be difficult. I would try explaining to them that you aren't asking for a letter directly supporting your appeal. Rather, due to the mix up which led to your daughter not getting the access arrangements, you are asking for them to say, in their professional opinion, whether or not your daughter would have passed the test if the access arrangements had been supplied. Point out that, without this, you will have very little chance of persuading the appeal panel to correct the situation.

If they still refuse I'm afraid you will have to try and win using just whatever information you have - previous reports, SATS results, etc.
