Is it out yet? asked at DD's school and no one include the head seemed to not know if it was. I'd have thought by now students would know what their exam dates are or is this too soon?

The exam boards published the timetables on their websites quite a while ago. A handful of exams had to be swapped from afternoon to morning (or vice versa) on a couple of dates so that Maths A-level exams could be in the afternoon. But I think it's pretty finalised now.

QuillBill · 19/02/2020 22:00

My dd looked on the exam boards websites.

Ginfordinner · 19/02/2020 22:02

What exam board(s) are the school using?

AQA here

Rosieposy4 · 19/02/2020 22:02

Been finalised for quite a long while, surprised school don’t know!
This tes thread gives dates foe all exam boards
www.tes.com/news/exam-timetables-dates-2020-gcses
Irritatingly the website/organisation that pulled then all together in one timetable no longer exists

ragged · 19/02/2020 22:03

THIS is helpful! I must figure out DS's timetable (he's clueless).

sandybayley · 19/02/2020 22:06

DD's school have sent round all her dates and we have them pinned up in the kitchen.

We also have DS1's A Level dates. Confused

ExpletiveDelighted · 19/02/2020 22:11

We got the final timetable last week.

Misandei · 19/02/2020 22:14

great info. Thanks all. Exam boards AQA and Edexel. Can't understand why DD's school don't seem to know anything about it.

OP posts:
ihatethecold · 19/02/2020 22:18

The AQA one linked above doesn’t name what exams are on each date unless I’m being dense.

Misandei · 19/02/2020 22:20

Just looked at Rosie's link. Is there a separate timetable for Edexel iGCSE?

OP posts:
Misandei · 19/02/2020 22:22

Found it.

Misandei · 19/02/2020 22:30

@ihatethecold It does. You've got to click on your exam board first (listed) then it opens up a table with all the subjects and the dates.

Gals... are they supposed to all be on the same days, broadly? Like OCR, AQA & EDExcel all have Biology on 12 May & 1 June.

Is that what usually happens, roughly same days if not exact same days for every board?

clary · 22/02/2020 20:48

Yes lljkk all the exams for a subject are on the same day. So everyone doing French, whatever the board, will have reading and listening on May 12 (or whatever). Eng lit will be the same day for all, tho the content of the exams will vary (eg AQA do Shakespeare and Victorian novel while I think other boards do Sh and 20th cent eg).

This is to avoid clashes, as you can imagine, since most schools do a variety of boards so your AQA eng lit might clash with your Edexcel maths if they didn't do this (hope that makes sense).

clary · 22/02/2020 20:50

Also it means it doesn't matter so much if you don't know which board (tho for content you would need to know)

lljkk · 22/02/2020 20:56

that is super useful, thanks. :)

TeenPlusTwenties · 24/02/2020 16:47

It also prevents double entering of maths & English.
e.g. Entering OCR Foundation & Edexcel higher for maths.
