Ds has left his English book at school Hmm and has revision to do during this half term.

Could you help with advising on any good sites he can use to help with the techniques listed.

I fear since Primary his English skills have started to slip.

Also any help regarding PEE paragraphs would be most welcome - he struggles with this the most.

My DC doesn’t have any English revision to do so I don’t have anything to share other than suggesting a good google. Pinterest has some good resources for sentence starters but they may be too young.

My DC who has always loved English has shown a real drop in enthusiasm since beginning of Y8. Looking at his class book it seems as though he does the bare minimum in lessons. I wanted to know if other Mums of boys in Y8 observed this too?

I’m not sure if it’s the teacher, the content (all very dry stuff) or some gendered thinking seeping in - he is an avid bookworm but if anything is ribbed for his enjoyment of reading for pleasure. He’s at a co-Ed school.

@Sweetmarmalade Hope you don’t mind me asking this on this thread too?

@Ratrace123 this could be my Ds you’re talking about. When his books do come home I find the lack of content quite amazing. He does tell me they discuss quite a lot in the class though so who knows? Confused

No problems discussing this on the thread @Ratrace123 I’m rather glad I’m not the only one feeling this way.
