DD is on waiting list for NLCS and has acceptance City of London Girls, we live St Albans so if she goes to city she will take the train

We recognise that both schools are good but husband leans towards NLCS probably because he attended the open day

Wonder what people's thoughts are if NLCS give an offer after some people reject their offers

No experience of either school, I'm afraid, but how would your DD get to NLCS? Presumably the CLSG route would be direct train to Farringdon, then walk; if travel to NLCS is more complicated, or restricted, then personally, I would go with the school that is easier to get to.

Since you have applied for both schools, other differences e.g. relative lack of outside space at CLSG(?) aren't main considerations?

For NLCS there is a coach service and I can also drop in morning, get to work and pick up after work as she can go to library after school do homework etc

I’ve not heard of girls who were on the waiting list being offered a place (perhaps no one admits it!)

There were a handful of girls that were invited to sit for occasional places later on, about 4 I think, to even up class sizes and not because others left.

No experience of CLSG but DD is now in Y8 and ADORES the school. They make full use of all the facilities and outdoor space and extra-curricular provision is excellent.

CLSG operates “exploding offers” so if you don’t accept pretty much immediately you run the risk of no place for you daughter. Take care as I personally know of someone this happened to. Thankfully her daughter had several other offers and NLCS was actually her first choice.
