Any parents who have chn on a bursary LU

please I would like to ask if the bursary covers partial cost uniform, music lessons, coaches? Thank you

Depends on the school. my DS gets everything covered including uniform, trips and music. My DD's are at a different school, also 100% bursary but no music is included and only 2 trips, we can have extended time to pay for other trips though. uniform free but only outgrown replaced, not if its lost.

My daughter is on a full bursary at LU (I assume you mean Latymer Upper) and she received a uniform grant when she joined, which covered almost everything, and from memory another slightly smaller grant in Year 9. The school provided free music lessons and instrument hire. These 'extras' tend to be par for the course at most independent schools but where LU really stands out is their provision for trips. They have a fund which is available for any student to apply to - not just the bursary students - to provide help with school trips. LU run an activities week in June every year, where all students except those in exam years go off site on trips. Some are residential, some not, but the school funds this completely for all bursary students. My daughter has also received funding for Classics trips. I think their bursary programme is second to none and they are hugely committed to social mobility and all students having the same opportunities. As you can probably tell, I love the school and can't speak highly enough of it!

You said 100% bursary. Does the percentage depend on the actual childs perfomance at the exam/interview? Or this is something they decide looking through DC’s parents incomes etc?
