Rugby, Warwickshire schools

Hi, we are considering moving to Rugby and oldest daughter is now in Year 6, so we've missed secondary school application deadlines already, but would still like to get some opinions on secondary schools in Rugby. Looking at Rightmove there seem to be a couple schools that don't rank very well with Ofsted, particularly the free school. Are the outstanding ones the only ones worth even considering? Thanks!

It's an 11+ area, so there will be a problem.

I'm wondering if moving into the Ashlawn catchment might be your best solution.

I used to live in the area. Rugby High is the girls grammar school where you have to do the 11plus exam. Ashlawn is probably seen locally as the best high school (it was outstanding for years, had a bad ofstead but now is back to being good). Houlton is a fairly new secondary and also has a good reputation. Avon valley is great for performing arts. Move within the catchment of your preferred school if you can as most of the good schools oversubscribed.
