Keswick School and Old Swinford Hospital experiences/opinions/information/boarding/anything else

I’ve known about state boarding for a long time. I was looking at DS and our family the other day and it occurred to me that state boarding might suit (or it might not) so I was going to investigate.

I’ve looked at what schools are available and based on logistics have narrowed these down to Keswick school and old swinford hospital. They have open days coming up so was going to go along and see them.

Anyone have any experience of these school? Either with Day children or borders?

In regards to the school itself:
If you had concerns did the school deal with them? If there were problems was your DC supported? Did your DC like the school? What was the teaching like? Did you/your DC like the curriculum on offer? Did the school care about children of all abilities or just the high attainers?

In regards to boarding:
Did your DC like being a border? What was the atmosphere like? Did they settle in well? Was there plenty of things for them to do? What were the staff like? How did you manage things like parents evenings ect?

Those are just general questions, no doubt I will find a million more but that’s the sort of information I am looking for.

Thank you everyone

Want to know the same. Looking at Old Swinford and Royal Alexandra and Albert School. Anyone has children in either school?
