St Peters York entry into sixth form

Has anyone got any experience of 16+ entry to St Peters in York please?

Yr10 dc looking at options though happy in current private school. Think he fancies a change. Looking at their website it says six GCSEs at 6 as a minimum but the reality is it’s very competitive.

Just wondering how competitive?! As in is it really all 8s and 9s needed if you’re applying from outside? Would other achievements help ie playing sport for a county team?

Friend's DD started 6th form in Sept. Not sure of her grades, all rounder at sports not county teams. The key thing was had to be a full boarder (weekly was refused).

Should say she is very happy so far.

Have you spoken to the admissions person? I rang a few months ago (about 13+ entry); she was very helpful. Seems they are turning a lot of kids away! Good luck😀
