Hi everyone
Firstly good luck to everyone who is going through the 11+ process like us!
DS did the exam for KCS last Saturday. Has anyone an idea, or past experience of how long it takes to hear about interviews? Also wondered if they email or send a letter?
Anxious times, all this waiting!!

Does anyone know if KCS interviews have finished yet?

I’ve seen some really supportive threads on 7+ and 8+ and hoping for some chat and support for those of us going through 11+ or 13+! Really hate this process and feels like we need to help each other get through it.

I'm not sure if they have finished interviewing yet, but could also use the support. Waiting for 13+ over here and have absolutely no idea how interview went. DS went in quite relaxed and came out happy but never wants to discuss. It will be a long 2 weeks!

Same here. Definitely need some hand holding as we are feeling the nerves here, as we move out of the assessment phase and into the waiting phase.

Can someone please remind me of the statistics for 13+? Is it correct that 90 boys were called with potentially 60 offers to be made? Will there be a waiting list in addition to the offers?

For 13+ I was told by the registrar on the day that they interview 120 for 30 ish places. I’m hoping they still over offer.

The HM at one of the open mornings mentioned 50/60 offers for 30 places. If they told you 30 - then possibly they have changed their policy....

Hi richafid, congratulations to your son. I was under the impression that results will be shared on 14th Feb. Am I missing something?

Can anyone whose DS has had an offer from King’s in previous years advise on their process of letting parents know whether their child has received an offer or not? I know they have said that letters will be posted 1st class on Thurs 13th to arrive on Fri 14th, but am wondering if the result is communicated by email as well (and if so, whether this is slightly earlier or later than the letter?). Wondering if anything will ping up in my inbox and catch me off guard

We just got the letter.

Thank you @Notmynom. I think I prefer it that way so I can prepare myself and not be taken off guard.

They just send a letter. However for some reason, ours didn’t arrive in the post the next day which sent me a bit frantic! I called Admissions and they were lovely, confirmed my de had a place and emailed me the letter (the hard copy turned up the next day. Good luck to you all.....I can remember this waiting time so well! My son is now in his third year at the senior school and so happy. I’m happy to answer any questions any of you have about the Lower School orthe school in general.
