Private School Assessments and Offer Letters - advice needed...

I have applied for GW, EA and ESMS for DS for S1 in Edinburgh. I am more nervous than he is! He was rejected from ESMS last year (tried hard but not at right level - tbh he was not in a good spot confidence wise and I suspect he didn’t answer much) but we have since found out he is dyslexic. Hoping with extra support we have been providing since diagnosis he will be ok this time around. Couple of questions - has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully managed to get place on second attempt? Also, do offer letters include contract as well or it is a letter to send back with deposit?

Thanks!

I live down south so I don't know these specific schools to any level of detail but I can say that for any independent school it is always worth reapplying if your DS did not get in first time round. Pupil numbers in any year group change and all our kids develop with age. I know several kids who have got into their family's favourite school second time round. I also think that if you can sweet talk the registrars and explain how much you all like their school (hence trying again), then this also helps. Obviously the more over subscribed the school the less this will be the case.

Offer letters always include the contract and they will all want you to sign the contract and send the deposit before your place is fully secured.
