Hello OP here, how did everyone get on? Hope everyone ends up with happy offers when this whole process is done. It’s arduous to say the least. We were very happy to receive our preferred 2 so it’s decision time. Good luck to all DC 😊

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Epsom College yet? DS was very keen to know if offers were being sent out today before he went to school

There was an email saying offers for 13+ are being posted Tuesday. Not sure if the same timings apply for 11+.

Having re-read a previous email from Epsom College, sounds as if they will arrive in the post tomorrow...! 🤞Best of luck to those who sat it!

Hi, anyone know when to expect to hear from ibstock? Website says approximately 2 weeks after exam and admissions say 21 feb? When have they done this in the past?

Yes I've got 21st written down.
I was told Ibstock are usually later than the rest!

ripple ibstock offers came just before half term last year but looks like it's later this year if it's the 21st

Radnor house letters came through DS made it, so relieved.
The letter says it was the toughest entry till date for the school so quite pleased, mainly for his confidence and the fact that he really liked the feel of the school.

Some Ibstock Place 11+ kids received an extra writing task in the English exam. Does anyone know anything about this? It feels unfair if they’re penalised having finished early and not using that extra time to go back and check the paper itself. Has this happened in previous years?

Plus, how many took the 2020 Ibstock 11+, how many offers, how many places (minus those from the prep). Is selection based equally from interview, computer assessment (3 parts), written exam (3 parts) and head teacher references and/or extra-curricular activities? Are people happy with the school? What child does it suit?

Ibstock is a funny one, no one can really tell what this school is like there's so much negativity and so much its a lovely school because it has a great make over in the park. But complaints about head the turn over in teaching the pastoral care were lost. The interview exam was tough along with computer they asked nothing about my daughter just exam based questions.... so it's a hard one wish someone would be honest about it.

I know many families with children at Ibstock, whilst I hear grumbles from parents (as I do from parents with children at other schools, although not the same grumbles), the children are very happy there

Ibstock is a lovely school. Great teachers; broad, well-rounded education. My daughter is thriving there and I’m really hoping my youngest child gets in. I think their comms (eg letters about entrance exam) seem a bit formal and not reflective of the warm and happy atmosphere in the school.

Ibstock offers out today which is good for people wanting to make decisions over half term

Jane, it's worth emailing / calling this pm before the office closes for 1/2 term to say you are really interested and will take a place immediately if offered. If your other option is a state school & you don't have to put down a deposit somewhere else by 3rd March all the better. In 2016 & 2017 KGS didn't go to waitlist but they were over offering so in 2018 they reduced the number of offers and have been happier with the acceptance rate, I don't know if they used the wait list in 2019.
