Books about slavery (fiction) for teens

Hi, just looking for some quick recommendations. We need a talking book for a long car journey this weekend, and as DS (13) is meant to be researching slavery for a history project I thought we could kill two birds with one stone. Any recommendations for historically accurate fiction? I read North & South when I was in my late teens, so that's my default option, but the more recommendations the better.

Hmm, just checked and the audiobook for N&S is 18 hours! We would prefer something around half that!

My Name’s Not Friday by John Walter fits the bill and is well written

No idea if you can get it as an audio but Underground to Canada might be good
