School not contacting us about dds re marks for GCSE

Can anyone advise?
Dd picked her GCSE results up without me. School wanted to re mark her science and her English. They made her sign that they could send it away.

We have heard nothing since. I even queried this a week ago and was promised a call back but have heard nothing. Is there anything I can do?

If her remarks come back higher she is entitled to go on a higher level at college but they need to know by the end of next week.

Call back. Call every day. Morning and then afternoon. People who complain most often get dealt with first.

Our school is still awaiting results from remarks. Most have come back but we are still waiting on a handful. I'm checking the websites everyday.

No Hugo. We did not ask for them.
School insisted that they were doing them. Dd signed but they did not ask for money. They better not either!

Ah thank you. So they may not even be back yet. That is useful to know.

How much as remark requests anyway?

If school wanted the review of marking (it is no longer a re-mark of the paper) then normally they would pay the cost. They were either very surprised by your DD result or they wanted a whole group looked at. I am not an Exams Officer but work closely with many, and I know this year results have been rarely changed. The cut off date for submission was several weeks ago, but many are still to be returned.

We're still waiting on returns.

Schools mainly request them for grades to go up and help the schools progress figure!

xyzandabc · 05/10/2019 21:30

I deal with the reviews of marking for our school, we are still waiting for about 20% of the ones we submitted to come back.

Phone once and ask, just in case it is back and they've forgotten to tell you. Don't keep phoning every day, shouting loudly as suggested above won't get the exam board to send the result back any quicker.

The cost depends on which board it is and what level qualification. Ranges from around £37 - £55 per paper.

Calling the school won't get the remark result to come any quicker, it's in the hands of the exam board You could ask if there's a final date for the remarks to be returned to schools or check that the school haven't mislaid them but afaik you can't hurry them up.

If it's anything like dd's your dd will get the result on an email, you won't hear anything. Have you checked she hasn't got it?

Remarked · 05/10/2019 23:02

Thanks. It might be they are not even back then, everyone else at college already has theres so we just thought we may have been missed. They could have just said they weren't back yet.

Witchend Not that I know of, she has been checking.

Science does not make any difference to us as it is a 4/4 to a possible 4/5 so I am not sure why they are sending that one. It makes no difference to dd.

She needed a 4 in English and got a 3 so that makes a difference.
