KS3 Science textbook - not workbook

Hi. I'm trying to find a textbook - as opposed to a workbook or revision book - for Y8 science. My son's school doesn't seem to do textbooks, which I suppose is common in these internet days, not like when I went to school with my quill and ink, you understand... Anyway, I'm looking for recommendations, particularly if there are any science teachers out there who can help. I'm trying to give him some support. Thanks very much for any help.

Or how about the cpg ks3 book. 100% reccomend

Depends on what scheam the school use for GCSE I'd say. Do the do AQA or OCR, would be best even at KS3 to get the book's that lead into the course the school follows. Avoid Activate they are rubbish even our teachers don't like them.

Cpg are good but are work books as well so maybe not quite what your looking for.
