London Nautical School

Hi,

We have been to see LNS recently and would love to hear from anyone who had experience with the school - I tried searching threads on here but they all seem quite old.
Main attraction is the nautical offering; but we also like how disciplined the students were and how passionate the new head is.

Any recent opinions would be appreciated!

Have you seen the stats? Poor progress and really terrible in the sixth form. Who knows if the new head will turn it around, but it seems like a bit of a risk.

Yes, that’s what worries me.
It’s just the feel of the school felt disjointed from results if you know what I mean - students seemed engaged and well behaved. Teachers passionate and proud of the school.
Seems we are trying to justify it somehow as son really liked it.

It looks like they've struggled academically for the past 3 years. I'm a bit academically minded and seeing that pupils achieve literally a whole grade lower in their GCSE exams than they would in some very good schools, I wouldn't send me child there. I'd find things outside of school to support his interests.
