Hi there. As application for secondary schools looms, I am looking for reviews and views/experiences on St Mark's Catholic School in Hounslow. On the paper sounds great. How is their pastoral care? Are kids happy there? Thanks

Hi there, just came across this message while googling similar. Did anyone ever get back to you? Are you local to St Mark's? What did you think of the open day? We went to the open day with a view to putting it 5th/6th as it's quite far from us but were really impressed. Still struggling with which other to list the schools!

Hi MamaL86. Unfortunately, nobody got back to me about this as it would have been good to hear first hand experience. Yes, we liked it. The sixth former who was giving us a tour had applied to study Law at Cambridge, a high flyer with all 8 and 9 at GCSEs, so quite impressive! I like the fact that the school enables children to make great progress from when they start to when they finish. They seem driven and pushy. I did not particularly like the grounds but that is the average urban school, no green area, just all a bit grey. For me would be either 1st of 2nd choice, we are not too far 30 min door to door and by bus. Which area are yo in?? And what would be your first choice?

Hi Blumoon1904. Shame nobody got back to you, there doesn't seem to be a lot online about St Mark's. Like you, we were really impressed by our sixth form guide who was really positive about the school. I also found the staff and students really engaged and enthusiastic. Unfortunately we missed the head teacher talk as we arrived rather late. What would your other top choice be? We're in Ealing so our top choice will be Cardinal Wiseman (though ds isn't at a feeder primary as we moved so think we're unlikely to get a place despite having the CCP). Gunnersbury would probably be a sensible number two but I'm a bit on the fence about it. St Mark's would be a bus and tube (45 mins +) which feels a bit much for an 11 year old, but we really liked the feel of the school. Are you in Hounslow?
