Elmgreen School Lambeth

My son and I like what we’ve seen at the open day, but the results are a concern. Parents and children there seem generally happy, but is there something we are missing? Anyone shed any light?
Thanks

I don't know the school but have just looked up their stats. They've had consistently poor progress scores. Some very good comps would achieve 50% and not 31% GCSE pass rates with the same cohorts (statistically speaking). Personally, I wouldn't touch the school with a barge pole.

I think the school now has some form of partnership with neighbouring Dunraven so may start to improve.

It’s difficult, they share a catchment with Dunraven which has such a longstanding reputation that they get ‘first pick’ locally.

But I know several families with kids in Elmgreen and they are happy and doing well.

@JoJoSM2,
I think that Elmgreen will be a great school in 3-5 years time, but I'm not sure about now

Dunraven might have a good reputation but it’s only average in terms of progress and attainment. Not sure if partnering up with Elmgreen it’ll be much help given Dunraven is nothing special.

barns I was exactly the same. I really liked Elmgreen when I looked round - it's a nice size, the buildings are lovely - light and airy and well looked after, everyone we met seemed happy and enthusiastic.

BUT, the results are a big concern and I'm not sure I can get past that.

Elmgreen is now part of a multi academy trust with a nearby outstanding primary school, Rosendale Primary. Rosendale is also a research school, the first in London I believe, and is a very well respected school with a strong leadership team. It will take a few years, but I would think that Elmgreen is definitely a school on the up.
