Hoping that someone has some up to date advice on Walthamstow secondary schools. In the midst of applications and desperately need some back up options if our 1st choice (Walthamstow School for Girls) falls through!

Maybe some stats can help?

Also have you looked at the distances from schools that secured places in the last few years?

Thanks for the reply! I've trawled through ofsteds and league tables (I'm a deputy headteacher in primary in a different borough, I'm all over it). The tables are helpful but the ofsteds are often so out of date, hoping for a bit of local knowledge and maybe personal experience.

Have you been round many? You should be in a good position to ask the right questions Wink

Open evenings start soon! I will have to reign myself in with the questions or they'll never give us a place Confused

The green school is good but don't dismiss Frederick Bremer- they are excellent and are increasing in popularity. They have an evening dyslexia school that the pupils can also use. I would definitely visit them. The holy family is also very popular and lots take it instead of the green school (wsfg). But obv religious so might not be for you. You have great options and the area has changed so much with lots of middle class families coming in which will change the cohorts in all those schools too.

That's really helpful, thank you!
