Can anyone suggest some ideas for my DD’s 18th birthday? Or would anyone mind sharing how you celebrated your DD’s 18th birthday? Look forward to hearing any suggestions. Many thanks!

What’s your budget? I’d like to take my (now 11yr old) DD to New York for her 18th or 21st and buy her something from Tiffany’s (the 3rd floor silver dept!). But I guess see if that interests her. That might be as I love NYC. For DS1 who is now 25 we had a party. I think DS2 (now 15) won’t have a party. Not sure what he would like - maybe going to Europe to see a champions league football game. Guess it depends what they like doing and budget

Thanks for sharing this, Darbs76. This is very helpful. Your plans for DD and DS2 sound great to me! I am sure they would love those trips. As my DD’s birthday is during school term, I won’t be able to take her for a long trip, but I may take her for a weekend away instead. I just really want to do something special with her.

I had a thread on here not long ago about my ds’s 18th birthday. It’s hard trying to decide what to do - not wanting it to go past unmarked but celebrating as they would like it! My ds does not want a party so I think we’re going with a family lunch and an open house the following day. He’s planning a night out with friends.
I honestly think I’m doing it as much for me as for him Blush I’m proud of the adult he almost is and I’ve raised him mainly by myself!
A weekend away sound a lovely idea for your dd- maybe a spa weekend if she’d like that? Or an adventure weekend somewhere?

DD is having a party at home. We did look into having at a local bar but too many of her friends are just under 18. She doesn't know it yet but we also have a weekend in London and tickets for Dear Evan Hansen booked.

Mine is having a party at a local social club - both family and friends from different things she does.

Thanks for sharing this Chocolatecake12. You should be very proud of raising your DD yourself! And thanks for the nice suggestions.
