6th forms - can ds enrol in more than 1?

My ds enrolled in the 6th form at his current school on results day last week. Having had time to reflect, he thinks he may prefer another 6th form (in a local stand alone 6th form college - not that it matters) where he's also been offered a place. Enrollment is next week. Is there anything stopping him also enrolling in the 6th form college next week and then advising his current school he's changed his mind?

That sounds fine. So long as he makes his mind up and let’s them know quickly. You can hold more than one sixth form offer, after all. There’s always a small amount of movement in the first few days and weeks.

I think provided that he lets them know about his decision as quickly as possible it should be OK.
At dds sixth form there was an enrollment fee that was paid and if you changed your mind that wasn't refunded. (The fee was approx £20). However this depends on the sixth form and most don't seem to have this policy. I would check in the enrollment document/prospectus to see if there is anything in there that covers this type of situation.

Yes he can enrol at more than one place. Quite a few do this, and it’s important they make the right choice for themselves. When he’s made his mind up, do the ‘rejected’ place(s) the favour of letting them know quickly so that they can have a clear idea of their numbers.
