Costco school shoes any good?

We saw leather school shoes in Costco yesterday, £25-£36 by "Term Footwear". Has anyone tried these and do they last? The girls' shoes annoyingly have no grip at all on the soles so I'm leaning towards the boys' sturdier shoes.

Clark’s is much better quality & fit for only a fiver more. They last longer too.

Thanks AngelasAshes. We have a hard time finding wide enough shoes with Clarks and got Start Rite last time as that is what our independent shoestore had in G width, but they were something like £60. Having thought about it, I'm going to try the Costco ones for the next size up and see how they last. The downside being, if they are great I'll have to wait until next year to see if they reappear in Costco!

Have you tried Kickers?

Try M&S patent shoes. They're brilliant for around the same price. We only replace ours because DD outgrows them and then they're still good enough to wear by a friend of hers. We normally get about a full school year from one £30 pair of shoes.

Thanks Isobel and Stocktake, I'll look into them next time round.
