Hi mums

Would appreciate some feedback we're applying for Kew house st catherine's and ibstock. I'm new to research Kew house was wondering if any mums there could give me feedback on their experience?

My daughter is in the middle and pastoral care must be strong. Just want her in a nice school where she'll be thriving with plenty of support.

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Thanks
Niamh

I would also be interested in any current parents' views, especially on Ibstock.

My son is in year 8 at Kew House (started in year 7) - its pastoral care is great. The vertical tutor groups means he has friends in lower and upper years. He's had quite a few bumps along the way (got diagnosed in year 7 for epicly slow processing speed) and his personal tutors have been brilliant at letting us know what's going on and working with us to help resolve matters/set him up for success.

The headmaster, Mark Hudson, is really impressive and passionate about education, not results, and the senior leadership team are good. They have hour and a half classes, less moving around the school and more opportunity to focus on subjects (which suits our son), a good range of clubs and activities kids can sign up to (and are encouraged to sign up to).

The location isnt ideal (next to a very busy road) but inside the school is great and they use local facilities for sports and rowing. DS1 is very happy there. Kids come from all over - alot from Kew/Chiswick/Barnes but a fair number from further afield due to the Overground coming into Gunnersbury also.

We have friends with kids at Kew House and hear nothing but good things. Our daughter is at St Catherine’s and has loved it. Some very good teachers, and lovely girls. New Head is mixing things up, modernising which is a good thing. We hear that they seem less keen on SEN students than previously although our DD is getting all the support she needs after a bit of a bump.

Any Ibstock parents out there?

Yes st catherine's and Kew house seems to be the 2 strongest with pastoral care I've heard nothing but good things too. Ibstock is next to us I've heard very mixed reviews. So just trying to gather more views. Thanks a lot
