Secondary schools in woolwich- please help!

Hi there, we are moving down to woolwich in a couple of weeks. Our son will be going into year 7 in September. We are coming from a rural area with tiny schools! I know my son is going to struggle to adjust so I was looking for recommendations for schools in woolwich please? Some of them have a lot of bad reviews so I wondered if anyone could give me their own personal experiences and recommendations please? I need to apply for a school very soon. Thank you!

Have you checked where there are vacancies? It is unlikely you would have much choice at this stage.

As Liz says, you need to talk to the local authority, give them your new address as soon as you have it, and see what they can offer you. Realistically you are unlikely to have much choice but you can go on waiting lists for other schools if you are not happy with their offer.

Thank you, yes I understand they may be full now but I was just wanting recommendations so I could fire if some emails to see if they had spaces then go from there. If I had known we were moving there I would have got this done a lot earlier but it’s a last minute thing. Any advice still appreciated
