concerns about Lealands high school reputation

Good morning all,

I am new to Mumsnet and really looking forward to being part of this community.

Right now I would really appreciate some advice .

I am new to Luton and my daughter has been offered a place for year 7 at the local high school- Lealands high school.

Whilst the school is ofsted rated as good , locals and neighbours are informing me that the school lacks discipline with students displaying terrible behaviour and that additionally the school has staff retention issues which may or may not be a contributing factor as to why they perform below the national average for GCSE results.

Does anyone have any personal experience or views regarding this high school or any advice as how to best appeal this placement and what grounds I could appeal as I have never had to appeal before?

I am obviously concerned as up to this point my daughter has had a very good primary education .

Hi, I know this is way too late but I’m just curious how Lealand high School is now. Did your child attend or did u appeal? If she is Lealand, how is it? If she didn’t attend what school did u choose and how is that school. My son was given Lea Manor high school and I don’t want it at all, so looking at my alternatives. Thank u
