Does anyone here have any experience of Lucton School? Thinking of the middle school and upwards, so year 6 and up.

Have been to a couple of open days and know we should see it on a non open day too as well as a taster day for our son.
Any views very welcome, live reasonably locally but don’t know any current parents.

My two children attend Lucton school and I cannot fault it. The teacher's are brilliant and the class sizes small. There are so many opportunities available to them including swimming/cross country/lacrosse, competing in lots of different sports ect, as well as the combined cadets force, taking part in professional productions/school trips ect. It has also been awarded something I'm sure for advocating mental health. There is also LAMDA (speech and drama lessons and exams) which is amazing for their self confidence. We have only heard good things about the school and I know it has a great reputation amongst the parents here as I would have heard otherwise I'm sure. GCSE results are great considering it is a non-selective private school so please don't compare results to other private schools. Lucton will find whatever it is your child excels at and will nurture and build on them. It is also a country school - this is what we wanted for our children as we prefer that environment to a city school and find there are a great mix of children there from all walks of life (when picking a private school this was important to us rather than just sending them to a school that wins scholarships to top schools). We also want them to be surrounded by the glorious countryside as opposed to a city school. We really couldn't recommend Lucton enough.

P.S. A very good idea to have a taster day there - that should be the deciding factor on top of seeing the school in open days
