Hello,

My son is going to Friern Barnet, it's very focussed on Performing Arts. My son is sporty and not into performing arts, he is strong in maths and english and very academic and driven. For example he loves SATS and tests and gets bored easily. Which school would be better for him. I also want him to be safe and with well behaved kids (doesnt everyone). Does anyone have any recent knowledge of these schools. Ive visited one and am about to see the other one. Thank you!

I don't know either school, I'm afraid, but do you mean that he was initially offered the one (as your 'nearest undersubscribed school', since you are so sure it's not the right school for him?) and has now got the offer as a place at the other from the waiting list?

Yes. We havent got a place at the but know there are places, it wasnt on my list, I've just found found out about it.

I don't know either school personally (sorry) but I do know an extremely picky mum (the kind who does serious amounts of research into this stuff, would make most MNers look like rank amateurs) whose DC is going into Y7 at Christ's College this Sept, FWIW. Hoping someone will be along soon with knowledge of one or both for you.
