Maths Summer courses to catch up / improve (year 9 going into year 10)

Im looking for a course for a year 9 student going into year 10 who finds maths very challenging and really needs to make progress.

I'd like to use the summer to be able to help.
Any advice?

do you want a physical course or online OP? where are you based?

Sorry were based in SW london. I don't mind either way but a physical one might be better. I would help him myself but the parent teaching child is very difficult, especially with a teenager who hates maths.

have a look at the explore learning tuition centre in Brixton. Also, I would recommend signing up for 'mymaths' (which my daughter found really useful). Each topic has a lesson, and then loads of practice questions x

Always found Mathletics good, you can set it to year you are on or different one if behind / ahead. Our school uses MyMaths, neither of mine will use it, but in theory its good.

I don't find that MyMaths to be really helpful. Often the lesson is much easier to comprehend than the questions then set in the exercise. So fine if your DC is able to grasp the concept to make more difficult connections but not otherwise.

London School of Mathematics and Programming? They have a cool factor with all the robotics / applied maths. They usually run summer camps for all age ranges.

Thanks silvercuckoo but they don't appear to be catch up courses?
PenguinsRabbits thanks, I have used that in the past, its just getting them to sit and do it. Thats why I'd prefer a face to face course or something like that.....

They are not "catch-up" courses in the traditional sense, rather they are trying to develop love of mathematics through understanding and fun real-life applications, still within the school curriculum. They have a regular Sunday class for GCSE prep (from age 13) in Wimbledon (should be not very far from you?) and used to offer a taster session for free. I know children who hated and did not understand maths before trying them, and went on to hardcore STEM degrees after.
