Can anyone give me any info about this school please? Good and bad! My DD has a place for September but it wasn’t one of our choices so we haven’t visited.

Would you recommend this over EGA which we have a good chance of getting into on appeal.

Thank you!

I actually went to MF, started in 2009 and left in 2017 just before the opening of the new building.
It also wasn't one of the choices my parents made, but at the time it was all girls, so I was sent there.
the one thing I can really vouch for are some of the teachers, especially one of the English teachers, who I respect immensely and would credit her for getting to where I am currently.
pastoral support can be hit and miss, but when it became a critical need for me they stepped in. I failed my first year of a-levels abysmally due to a whole host of things going on personally and they didn't bat an eyelid in letting me retake the first year (some schools in the local area wouldn't let you do this at all)
I'm not sure if intake has increased much, but class sizes were never too big, and when I reached sixth form I think our year graduated with less than 25 pupils- there was definitely an air of camaraderie among staff and sixth form students, especially students who had been at the school all the way through.
there are some issues with specific teachers still at the school, but by the time your DD encounters them they may not be there anymore.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have

Thanks so much for your info, that’s really helpful! Is there any problem with bullying there?
Also how was it for Sports, drama and music? My Dd is massively into all three and she tends to be consistently average/slightly higher than average in the academic side so I’m not too worried about that.
