Hi

The school where my son will start y7 in September has informed us that this July he will have to attend a CAT Test and it will be focused on Verbal Reasoning, Non-verbal reasoning, Quantitative Test and Spacial Ability. I am quite clear on Verbal Reasoning but I do not know what the quantitative test is and how the spacial ability is different from the non-verbal reasoning.

Can anyone explain what they involve.
Is there any website where I can find interesting information? TIA

pretestplus.co.uk/year-7-cats-everything-parents-need-to-know/ This seems to be a good website

To put your mind at rest, this is quite standard, either on the transition days in July or in the first couple of weeks in September.

Our school uses it as a bit of a heads up to compare against the SATs incase there is a big disparity between the two, and also to see if anyone has a particularly skewed profile. You don't need to prep for it, and you may not even get the results.
