Moving to Ascot region

Looking to move to the area. Any advice as to which areas are good.

Not sure Ascot itself would be the best place, since apart from good schools and the races there is nothing much else to do. Can expect my teenagers will get bored pretty soon.

Want to be close to London for jobs, but not too built up area. Close to facilities.

Have been eyeing up area such as Chobham, Marlow, Old Windsor, Dachet, Virginia Water etc.

Ascot is a good place to have teens as they can just hop on a train and go to Reading, London, Guildford or the regenerated Bracknell. Mine seem to keep busy ! And High St seems to keep them occupied with coffee.

Thank you for your reply mumsneedwine. ⭐️ I suppose they could use the trains by themselves soon enough.

Which areas of Ascot would you recommend?

It's not a very big place and has a range of houses depending on your budget. North Ascot is probably cheaper than South and nearer to Charters if looking at state. The racecourse is a great place to walk or run and a cut through from the North to the High St/station. Can watch racing for free if know how to get in (all legal !). Cheapside is nice too but bit further out - nearer the Great Park though.
It's a lovely green area with, at the moment, enough amenities. Mine got the train by themselves from 11 and never had any problems. They can also get to Thorpe Park too by getting off at Staines. Lots of teenage employment too as local employers good at taking them.

🤣. I like the idea of sneaking into the races....do you still have to wear a hat? 👒🎩
