Is this normal?? (dd behaviour)

Just wondering if anyone else's 14yr old sleeps in her school uniform to save time in the morning?

Yuck no!
Sweaty and crushed uniform?
Does she shower?

Mine doesn't but can be incredibly lazy on some aspects (infuriating fastidious in others 25 min showers every morning). Are there any other issues e.g tiredness, laziness, lack of motivation

No. And i wouldn't let her if she wanted to. My dd is the opposite. She gets up an hour and forty minutes before she has to leave so she can have a shower etc.

yes, lots of other factors going on, but it's hard sometimes to separate general teenage behaviour from other stuff!

No, that's not normal and very unpleasant. Most 14 years old girls would be very self conscious and not want to turn up to school in a crushed sweaty uniform.

DD would never go to school creased - as the kids at her schools favourite word would be used against her (dosser)

My DD has had lots of anxiety issues which are thankfully getting a bit better now but when they were at there worst she used to wake up at 4am, get dressed and then go back to sleep. In her case it was because although she wanted to go to school and was ok when she got there, she was incredibly anxious in the mornings about going and this helped her.

When I was a student and had a Saturday job I used to come in from a night out, get ready for work and then go to bed. That way I could roll out of bed and straight into work. It wasn't uniform though! It was a weird thing to do I suppose.

I still hate getting ready now.

Is she putting on clean uniform or sleeping in the previous day's?

When I have to catch train to commute I will do everything the night before.

I function better around dinner time the night before than I do in the morning, so everything is done then. Documents are sorted and bagged, clothes all picked and hanging/laid out, lunches etc made an put ready to grab.

This means maximum sleep, minimum chance of fail/miss train/flight etc in the early hours.

I always make sure DC prepare the same,but I have caught on a couple of occasions DC getting into uniform if woken in the night and it was anxiety induced behaviour. Worry about not waking/being late. At 14 though anxiety was higher around not being pristinely prepped for the social experience!
They are different though, but I wonder if you did a thorough routine and went through the putting out of everything clothes-wise for the morning it could ease the anxiety? As well as good bedtime and long enough for waking and getting ready in the morning?

My DD 15 throws her uniform onto the floor in a crumpled mess which the dog sleeps on then she spills make up and her breakfast on and i expect it would definitely be cleaner if she wore it in bed!

No. I wouldn’t say that was normal. Is she literally rolling from bed out the door?

One of my friends said she used to do it as a teenager, so it made me wonder if it was perhaps more common than I thought.

I used to do this, but I was gross as a teen half the time I just used to put makeup on top of the day befores makeup too (then wondered why I had terrible skin!) I don't think I was all that normal though to be fair!!

Well, obviously it's not ideal she does this, and we are working on personal hygiene…
It's just that when my friend said she used to do this, it made me wonder if it was more teenager behaviour than more complex issues.
I didn't really want to go around in real life telling people she did this, and asking if their dc did it too
