Considering appealing 2nd choice school.
DS given 3rd choice.
Does the school know at appeal panel, what place you ranked them on the LA application form?

Actually, they might. Surrey tend to provide a copy of the application form with appeal documents if they are the admitting authority.

the appeal Panelists can also ask.

Ok thanks- that is what I feared !

Not sure why you are concerned. It should not enter into the appeal panel's decision.

The appeal panellists should not be asking what level of preference because it does not as PRH says form any part of the decision process (or it should not!)

Lougle · 01/04/2019 18:01

It makes no difference at all! You can appeal for a school that you didn't even put on your form.

PatriciaHolm · 02/04/2019 10:21

Indeed, sorry, should have been clearer - it's not a relevant part of the appeal decision. It won't make any difference to the school, or the appeal, whether the information is in the appeal documents or comes out in the appeal itself (no reason it should, but I've seen it happen).

It won't matter to the outcome, and the school won't care anyway.

Tomtontom · 02/04/2019 10:46

We do as we have the original application. That may well vary between areas.

It doesn't matter though, definitely wouldn't be part of the decision making process.
