Hi everyone,

My son has been offered a place at CLSB for 13+. We did like the school during the open day and really pleased with the offer.
So far, I've seen only positive comments about the school. I'd be grateful for any comments/views from current parents.
How do you like the new Head? How do you find the school's pastoral care? How have the boys

Sorry I've hit the button before finishing my post.
Has the school helped the boys who started at 13+ integrate well?

I also wonder why CLSB is not that high in league tables given its academic requirements (i.e. 70% in CE exam, same as Westminster and St Paul's).

I'll be grateful for any positive or negative comments and any insider information.

Many thanks!

Hi OP. My boy is at CLS -in fact if yours starts in Sept they’ll be in the same year. He really likes it, after a bit of a steep learning curve last year (he’d never had homework before) he’s found his people and he’s so happy and engaged. The new head seems lovely and full of good ideas, too.

The requirement aren’t quite the same - isn’t city average of 70% as opposed to W and St P’s 70% in everything?

It seems to get very good results to me and is a total bargain fees-wise too

Notmynom · 25/03/2019 13:18

Westminster and St Pauls have dropped common entrance altogether.

@ Merksalina thank you! It sounds lovely. He is due to start in 2021, so he will meet with your DS in year 9 :)

Oh good point - the 2021 cadre are the first who don't need CE for W. Lucky beggars

Merksalina · 25/03/2019 15:59

AwayToday - mine did the 11+, but I’m guessing it’s not so different. Maths was very hard and the others were not too bad, he said. Maths is his strongest suit, too, so maybe focus on that?

QuestionTime123 · 27/03/2019 15:11

@Michaelahpurple the offer letter from CLSB says minimum 70% in every subject , and yes those who got in WS and SPS re very lucky to escape CE. I agree about the bargain fees and was just curious as it sounds too good :)
