BTEC Level 3 Computer Science Course

Starting to think about what my DS will do after his GCSEs next year. Can anyone tell me how many hours teaching a week the BTEC level 3 Computer Science course involves ?

He is thinking of moving to 6th Form to do this, but we can't work out whether he can just do that course or whether he would be expected to pick 1 or 2 A-levels as well ?

Is the BTEC classed as a FT course on its own ?

An Extended Diploma is 3 A level equivalent.
A Diploma is 2 A level equivalent
And a Certificate(?) is 1 A level equivalent.

So it depends.

Certificate might be called Subsidiary Diploma actually.
