Reed's (Year 9 entry) - Waiting List

Does anyone have any experience here? I know it will vary year to year. We have a low teen's wait list position just wondering how likely it will be to be offered a place. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

It might be different from 11+ but when I phoned just after the results letters I was told that the school didn't go to the waiting list in 2017 and 2018. We were given a low digit number from the waiting list but in fact have accepted something else - and I've taken DS off the waiting list so when you are currently may shift - which of course unfortunately doesn't help if they don't go the list at all.

Was that for Year 7 entry?

Sorry for the late reply and hope the WL has moved for you. Yes, we were on for 11+.

I've known boys to get places for year 9 entry from the waitlist but it might take some time as people can hold onto the place for ages before they lose any deposit money. I know of someone who held a place all the way up until the January of the year or entry. You might have to put your money down on his second choice school and just cross your fingers (and possibly lose a deposit).
