I'm interested to find out what current parents think of HCS? I am considering it for my DS. I've looked around and am pleasantly surprised. What do you think?

  1. Pastorally
  2. New head?
  3. Teaching?
  4. Results?

Would you recommend it?

Many thanks

Its a non selective fee paying school in an area with amazing comps
a lot of the kids come from the Waterside (where the state schools are dire)
the results are the same as the comps
but the kids seem happy and balanced
there is lots of flow between private and state
so its all quite mellow

I would also be interested to hear from any current parents. Anyone else out there? I’ll be going to the open day in September but don’t know much about it.
Thanks x

As another poster mentioned, its surrounded by quite a few good state schools and it’s not selective either.

A few of my daughters friends went their & generally it is sometimes seen as not as “academic” “top” as a school like KES.

My friend’s daughter loved it there and she did well so assuming teaching is good.

Still not sure what to do so would be interested if there are any other Embley parents out there?
