Are they constantly hooked to YouTube? or other social networking sites.

NO I think contrary to popular media belief MOST teenagers are not addicted to social media. While my 14yo and his 14/15yo friends spend time on social media they are also well adjusted teenagers that do other things as well such as ...Explorer Scouts, DofE, meet ups at parks , cycling together etc

I agree with voddie. My dc do use Social media, but also do all of the above (well, similar type of activities).

Q8 is contradictory because you are suggesting that 'staying in touch with friends' is an alternative to being on social media, and yet surely most teens 'stay in touch with friends' via social media ?
