GL Transfer Tests -Re-mark????

Hi I'm hoping some Mummies/Daddies have experience of GL test re-mark and can give me advice .

Has anybody had a remark for GL in Northern Ireland and what was your experience?

Our Son has got his results this morning he got a C1 2 marks from B2. He is one of the top in his class for maths but his score doesn't reflect that and he's not good in exam scenarios. He is disappointed and I was just wondering if there would be any point in having a re-mark , 2 points could be enough to secure his place in his first choice school. Many Thanks G x

I've heard the mark can go down as well as up which would put me off.

I've also heard the GL results overall are down this year.

My son found the GL exams much harder than the AQE.

Thanks for your response hopeishere I know I'm concerned about it going down too so think we re just going to sit tight and hopefully he gets his first choice, we won't find out until May now.

I think AQE is a much fairer but unfortunately the Grammars in our area are all GL :/

Our Daughter will go through the process next November and I'm not looking forward to it..... too much pressure as such a young age sometimes I wonder if it's worth it..

I agree!! I'd heard the tests were being amalgamated next year which would hopefully be better. My sons school concentrates on the AQE.

That would be great if they were amalgamated Smile
