Would you give me an interview?

My DC are now both in primary and I was thinking of going back to secondary. I am:
Late forties, secondary MFL specialist with 8 years' experience, not worked in a school for nearly a decade except as a volunteer (academic- related not eg lunch supervisor). However I have done a lot of private tuition in that near-decade.
Would I be advised to volunteer in a secondary school MFL team to get recent experience first?
Any advice welcome.

There's a push in some schools to attract returners exactly like yourself, with initiatives to help encourage and support. If I were you I'd write to the schools in your area that you'd like to work in and see if they're of the same mindset. If you've got a good CV, leaving aside the break, you might find yourself very welcome.

How about www.teachagain.co.uk/index.php/teach-again-programme/

I think it must depend where you are. In London at HD's school they have failed to recruit mfl teachers as there's so few applications.

Do you have a drug habit? Are you a member of BNP?

No? Then you're in ! Grin
