Hey - get of my patch wench - I'm the only one round here that goes (like the saddo I am ) on the last day of term to buy uniforms. Got all but shoes and a polo shirt yesterday - so there!

MrsBadger · 30/06/2007 18:08

but have you sewn in the nametapes yet?

Pixiefish · 30/06/2007 18:10

Was wondering what to do with my dd's uniform as she starts pre-school this September and am worried about getting it too early incase it doens't fit her by September

Blandmum · 30/06/2007 18:10

pah!

Sorted it all on Wednedsay of this week. It is all done, with name tapes, except the shoes!

Eat my dust!

multitasker · 30/06/2007 18:11

Pesky pesky name tapes

mosschops30 · 30/06/2007 18:13

Boo am not so smug now then !! Pixie the shop i went to said if I keep my receipt and it doesnt fit her come september I can swap for a bigger size, maybe your schoolwear provider does same.

Dont do nametapes, I'm a permanent marker kinda girl

Mine are all lined up , on hangers, in the wardrobes!

Trust me, I'm not usualy this organised, and I have stunned myself [smug bastard emoticon needed]

mosschops30 · 30/06/2007 18:54

oh MB you can definately be smugger than me then, mine are stuffed in the bag of the wardrobe in a carrier bag!

Ah but have you bought all new stationery and stuff to go in her new school bag - I have! Pencils, pens, maths set, french dictionary and everything. I am soooo Little Miss Smug of Smugsville!

roisin · 01/07/2007 08:58

I've got their trousers on 3 for 2 in M&S, but that's all so far.

christywhisty · 01/07/2007 14:02

I got most of it 3 for 2 in M&S, however worried about blazer as DS is tall. I have bought a 13 yr old, it comes just above his knuckles so not sure if will last him

I have to get the school badges and tie and pe kit.

exgov · 02/07/2007 18:23

Just wait until they start losing bits of it...

BellaLasagne · 02/07/2007 18:40

I had to order it last week to be collected from school at parents evening this week - it seems far too early to me but I'm sure they know best!

Blandmum · 02/07/2007 18:47

not only is all the uniform in the wardrobe, with labels. I also have the pencil cases hiddent from the childre (so they don't nick all the stuff before the start of term).

Now all I need to do is to remember where I hid the bloody things !

somersetmum · 02/07/2007 18:53

Get taggits, they take five seconds to put in place and stay put - no more sewing!!

katelyle · 02/07/2007 18:59

We've got to send ours away to have dd's full name embroidered in gold thread on the outside of all the sports kit and a cost of 3.50 a garment. I kid you not. And it's a state school! Oh well, at least there's no blazer or tie.

ZipadiSuzy · 03/07/2007 14:32

Got all DS's last night at school meeting for year 7 in Sept, aaagghhhhhh! £250 (inlcuding shoes)

Yes and Damn those name tags! grr!!!!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 14:41

Thats an outrageous amount of money! What happens if you've got twins? it's just wrong.

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 14:43

You can get a laundry pen and just write their names on the label, surely. it might get a bit faded from time to time, but I'd rather re-write it, then do all that sewing!

cba · 03/07/2007 14:47

I have also got all ds2 uniform he starts in reception, I went to the uniform shop last week bought everything, I now wonder and hope if it will be ok for september.

Rhubarb · 03/07/2007 14:49

Actually can I stomp all over your smug please? I haven't bought uniform yet because dd will probably grow over the summer holidays and then the uniform and shoes, esp the shoes, probably won't fit.

Plus I'll get it all much much cheaper in the first week of September. So there!

MaureenMLove · 03/07/2007 14:52

Smart arse!

collision · 03/07/2007 14:54

why dont you order the iron on labels from NameTag.com?

They are so easy and you can design your own with a little picture.

ds1 has a dino on his

just ordered some for ds2 with a train on

Rhubarb · 03/07/2007 14:57

Or get a permanent marker pen and write their name in big letters in their clothes?

Legacy · 03/07/2007 14:59

Yah boo, got all ours too (£456 BEFORE shoes and WITH a 10% discount )

Haven't named it yet though, 'cos we were also told by the shop that if they had a growth spurt over summer we could swap it at the end of August.

Name tapes are ordered
Named pencils have arrived
Pencil cases are checked and packed
gym bags are packed

ah bliss.... last year I was running around like a blue-ar$ed fly.

Now ... all I need to do is teach DS how to tie his tie
