Mum and myself are currently looking to buy in Newport. We have seen some nice houses today but not knowing the area that well (Cardiff more so) we are wondering about the better High Schools as a few of them seem not so good.
I understand Basseleg and Carleon are the better ones but a couple of questions....
1} Do the RC schools accept students who are not practising catholics?
(I was born in the Catholic church and have a certificate but my children were not and I don't go now)
- Do you have to be living very close to the school to be in the catchment area? I have just looked at the heat map for schools and it seems pupils come from all over. This might not be true though.
We have looked at some places in Gaer park and another in NP19 which was really nice.
Also,any thoughts on the other schools Liswerry, John frost etc would be fab.
