SCHOOL OFFERS !!!URGENT!!! Brentwood school and Lancing college

Hi everyone, I have received an offer from both Brentwood school and Lancing college. However, I am very unsure of which one I should choose. I have visited both of the schools as well, from what I have seen, Brentwood school is much friendlier and there seems to be less pressure on students. Meanwhile, Lancing college seems colder since there are lots of boarders (around 100-200?), unlike Brentwood (only around 25). After all, Lancing did prove that they have better facilities (especially art, because I want to be a designer). Other than that, the view from Lancing college is just amazing, and since it is far away from "civilization" I can focus on my studies more, but the students there said that there are pressure and competition. Lastly, Brentwood school is much more convenient than Lancing college as it only takes around 30 minutes to London by train. I'm very stuck right now, I hope someone will help, I'll have to make a decision by tomorrow.

Is this for 6th form? If yes look at the results for the subjects you want to study, if possible meet the HODs look at the faciiitues etc current students work (assuming your doing art) do you like it/inspire you? Then if all things are equal choose the one where you feel most comfortable and closely matches your ethos on life and education.

If you're boarding Lancing tips the balance. My DD boards and weekends are a lot quieter when some students go home, so the more the better. Also, if you're adademic and want to make the most of your studies, then Lancing tips the balance. You mentioned Lancing seemed colder. Did you meet a lot of staff and students? If not, there are sure to be others there like yourself.

Having said this, you have to follow your gut, you may be happier at Brentwood if they seemed friendlier/less cut off.

Thanks everyone. Yes i mentioned that Lancing seemed colder, maybe it because everyone was just so busy at that time. Also, Lancing is my first choice, I really think Lancing has better facilities. However, I already accepted the offer from brentwood and my parents already paid for it as well. Even though Lancing is my first choice, sometimes I wish they never accepted me since i already paid for the other school.

Have you talked this over with your parents? If not, do so and see if they'd be happy to loose the Brentwood deposit to start with. If so, talk over your reasons for goign to each school. I guess one of them attended with you and might be able to add some imput.

If your parents are happy for you to go to Lancing, it might be worth you phoning both and talking about how your academic level fits in with the school. Also, if boarding, I'd want to know that the girls at Brentwood do all mix and socialise given there's a smaller number.

My DD boards and she hasn't found a divide between day and fulltime boarders. However, at weekends there are no day boarders and a third of boarders go home. She does find it quiet, but luckily there's approx 80 girls in her year and she's got to know some girls in other houses, so there's usually someone to chat, have a drink with, go shopping etc.

I have talked to my parents about this, they said that it is fine if i really want to go to Lancing college. I am sure that I will and will be able to study hard in Lancing college, but I'm a bit afraid that everyone in that school are straight A-B students (I mean, if i study hard I can achieve A's easily)
