Latymer Upper 11+ exams 2019

I was wondering if anyone’s child took the Latymer upper exams today and if so how they found it?
My DD was in the morning session and thought it went reasonably well, but said maths was harder than the English, but we don’t really have anything to compare it to other than past papers.

I was concerned about the school dropping the league rank too as I have a child who would thrive in an academic and competitive environment however I love the feel of the school, the fact that its a co-ed, very short trip from door to door.

Overall I think it suits my daughter the best. We feel very lucky joining the school and will make the most of our time.

Hello, how have your kids found the exam yesterday? My DS said the maths was much harder than sample papers published online. He hasn't finished at least three questions, which I think could be ok

yes mine found the math paper tough. One question in particular. Also mine felt they weren't as focused because of the paper in the morning.

Did do it, but heard they only had one 5 min break!

I guess with 1300 kids is going to take time.... SPS have delayed results today until Thursday , with a lot less numbers.

I've checked, the email says "results by Jan 24th" with 350 people selected for interviews on Feb 1

What are you waiting for SPS? 11+? My DS is doing 13+ there, so invites for that have been sent last year

Hi, has anyone got email from LU today?

Email came through from LU a couple of hours ago and very surprised that DD was offered an interview as she said the maths was really tough! Long way to go yet but very happy for her to get to this stage given the amount of children who sat it!!

great news! called the school in the morning, they said emails are sent out today to everyone regardless of the result. was expecting email today but not got one. Anyone who sat exams but did not get email today?

Is it true that LU that little bit harder to get in for boys compared to girls? I read somewhere that there are more options for girls in the area? Is that true?

Hi, Sosickoflovesongs! Is LU reserve list same as waiting list? Do they “over offer” or do they just put the children straight in the reserve list (or waiting list)...? Sorry if this is a stupid question... Just moved to the UK... Also, is it true that LU’s deadline for main list acceptance is early March? If that is the case at least children in the reserve list (or waiting list) should have clarity soon, which is a blessing...

Have been lurking but just add to the confusion we haven't had an email yet but I just opened a very THIN letter with a LU postmark on it and it was a letter to DS congratulating him on his place ( I haven't read who was addressed to- just felt a bit sick at the thinness of it!).
