Anyone else taking these assessments in January? Anyone who went through the process last year have any tips for those about to go through it this January?

Many thanks...

I know Alleyns seems incredibly popular so very hard to get in. What do you think they are looking for? Many people say 'not necessarily the most academic'. It sounds like the interviews matter quite a lot. Does anyone know what sort of child they are looking for?

And JAGS still seems to still have a more negative reputation as being too pushy or filled with alpha girls but I know many parents who disagree. The girls and Head all seemed really down to earth when I visited.

Honest opinions on either school would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Following but no insight! Wondering what the interviews consist of..

Don't know too much about JAGS but Alleyns now have 1-1 interviews for scholarship candidates and general group interviews for those who pass the test. Have a search on the forum as there is info out there and also on elevenplusexams.

JAGs don't do a general interview now - they see all the girls in the pre test in November so I guess there's a certain amount of observation then?

Alleyns - there is a group activity and then an individual interview for all non-scholarship candidates. the group activity sounds quite fun - think they're just looking for the kids to join in.

Both schools (indeed all schools!) will have a more in depth interview procedure for scholarship candidates.
