Halliford School, Shepperton

DS 11 has an interview soon at Halliford. Can anyone offer any advice on what he can expect? Any views on the school would be very much appreciated too. Thanks

Hi there all, I have a son in yr7 at Halliford who is having a great time so far. Obviously it’s only been a term but we’re very pleased overall. I liked the wide range of subjects in the first year as I particularly wanted him to try Spanish as well as French to have a more informed choice at gcse.
We chose it over St George’s because of this and also we felt it was stronger in Art (although it’s a bit too theoretical in the first year I think it gets better later on) but mainly because he’s football crazy and not that keen on rugby, although he’s still on the B team. It also has a better commute for him - public transport rather than school bus which if you miss you’re stuck, or need a lift. But you need to decide based on your own priorities and what you think would suit your son best.

Good to hear from a Halliford parent , I think we have pretty much landed on accepting our place as I get a good feel for the school and the fit for our son compared to the other school we have an offer from. Although he will be on the school bus so he better be organised and not miss it!!!!
