He’s never been that interested but suddenly seems keen.

Are there any books you could recommend to help and encourage?

Thanks Bionic. Have you got this book? There are some good reviews but all adults. Just making sure this would suit Ds.

My son has it. He’s 16. it has exercises in it, so not learning a particular style of drawing, like manga or graphics, but ‘learning to see’ type exercises. ‘Draw what’s in the corner of the room’. I think there are other books in the series. I quite enjoy drawing and it’s extremely useful sometimes to describe something, perhaps you’d enjoy working through it together?

The Quentin Blake book is also excellent.

Bionic, thanks! Going to order this and also TonTon, thank you, will order both for Christmas.

Ds has suddenly become interested in art after not showing much interest before. Age 12, I’m not sure we have a future Van Gogh here but if he enjoys it then it’s all good.
